The Service Center at Clearwater realizes the increasing importance of technology and the need to enhance and expand the educational opportunities in technology for students and staff members. Online courses, workshops, onsite and off-site presentations are all available from The Service Center and cover a variety of topics. Services we offer can include:
 

Device Deployment and Support (iPads, laptops, Chromebooks, etc)

Our Service Center staff is ready to help you with implementation, training, and support for technology devices. Our support can include:

  • Background research regarding device implementation and purchasing
  • Guidance during the planning, preparing, implementing, and evaluating stages of tech device deployment
  • Various professional learning training models and support for teachers and staff, including online courses, workshops at The Service Center, school-wide inservices, “Design It Yourself” learning sessions for teachers, classroom support and modeling of lessons with students
  • Connections with other school districts who have experienced similar implementations

 

Google Apps for Education (GAFE)‚Äč

Many school districts are using Google Apps for Education.  Let our technology staff help guide you through the migration process and provide training for your staff and teachers. We can help with:

  • GAFE migration from other sytems (i.e. MS Exchange, Outlook, etc)
  • Support and training for the Admin Google Console
  • Various professional learning training models and support for teachers and staff, including online courses, workshops at The Service Center, school-wide inservices, “Design It Yourself” learning sessions for teachers, classroom support and modeling of lessons with students

 

Customized Professional Learning Opportunities

The technology staff at The Service Center recognizes the importance of personalized learning for teachers. We educate ourselves on the latest trends and topics in technology education and design professional learning opportunities around those topics and districts’ needs. We provide these opportunities in a variety of formats including:

  • online courses (individual or school-wide)

  • workshops at The Service Center
  • school-wide inservices
  • “Design It Yourself” learning sessions
  • co-teaching using technology
  • modeling of lessons with students
  • creating and organizing tech-related resources
  • connecting teachers for collaboration opportunities

E-Rate Services
The Service Center provides E-Rate services each year to interested districts. We will make site-visits to district administration and devise a plan to support technology implementation and training, data collection, and completion of required E-Rate forms. Our staff attends KSDE’s E-Rate trainings to keep up with the latest information, policies and procedures.


Technology Plan Development
The Service Center staff can assist districts with the development of District Technology Plans. Our knowledge of state and national policies and requirements allows us to help districts set goals, conduct needs assessments, and assist in technology budgeting. 


Technology Directors Support Group
Join other Technology Directors to discuss the latest technological advances in education. This is a chance to network with professionals in your field. The participants dictate the agenda for meetings and will be able to gain ideas and support for their districts' technology plans.
